2nd Annual Villa Park Summerfest
Saturday, June 23, 2007
11 a.m. -- 6 p.m.

We have another opportunity to tell "The Best Story in Town" at Villa Park's 2ND Annual Summerfest at the park across from the old post office. Our booth will feature an opportunity for children to make-and-take a craft project and for adults to receive information about our church.

We will need some of help manning the booth. Anyone can help -- our youth, parents, grandparents, and teenagers. Contact Bob Allan if interested. Also, we will need a booth tent and manpower to set-up and take-down.

Let's help spread the word about "The Best Story in Town!"

Annual Church Picnic
This year our annual worship at the park and picnic will be held on July 1, 2007 at Rotary Park at the usual time 10:15a.m. We will share in a worship service that includes communion and ask everyone to bring a dish to pass. Diaconate will cook our usual hamburgers and hot dogs, and brats and the Board of Christian Ed. will make sure there are games. What is new this year is that the MAD MONKS OF MELODY will join us. They will play after worship for about an hour. So mark your calendars and plan on bringing a friend.

Spring Plant Sale - Pick-up May 19!
PLANT SALE DELIVERY HELP NEEDED
Well it seems that Spring has finally Sprung, which means that the plants we ordered in March will be arriving soon. The plants will be delivered to the East entrance around 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 19. Help is needed this day to sort flowers into orders and assist when people pick up their orders. The sorting took about 2 hours last year. Pick up is from Noon -- 2 p.m. and if you are unable to work the whole 5 hours, any time you can help out is fine. Let Renee Stoddard or the church office know if you are able to help.

PLANT SALE PICK-UP REMINDER
For all of those who ordered plants this year, thank you. Please remember that pick-up of your beautiful plants, ordered from Ted's Green House in Tinley Park, is Saturday, May 19 from Noon -- 2 p.m. at the church's East entrance. If you are unable to pick-up your flowers at this time, please let Renee Stoddard know so that different arrangements can be made. Extra annuals and some perennials will also be available for purchase at this time

Observing Lent
Wednesdays in Lent will offer reflective time in the sanctuary and walking the Labyrinth in Stiffler Hall from 7-8 p.m. Both will have sheets to direct your meditations. Life moves so fast and we all yearn for peace in our hearts and a connectedness to God. Jesus often went off for times of prayer. We need this too. I hope many of you take part in this. There will also be coffee in Bevan Lounge if you would like time with a church friend and maybe talk about the scripture you read.

Kids Night Out! - March 24
The annual Kids Night Out is coming up Saturday, March 24, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Come for a fun-filled science night for preschool - 5th grade! Tickets are $3 per child (available at the door on the night of the event, too). The event includes cool science projects, games, scavenger hunt, dessert and sourvenirs to take home!

Special Palm Sunday Coffee Hour and Children's Easter Egg Hunt April 1
Goodies for all of our young friends will be left for the fifth annual Easter Egg Hunt on Palm Sunday, April 1st, and will take place during coffee hour, on the east lawn (weather permitting) or the second floor class rooms. Remember to bring your Easter Baskets to collect your eggs. We look forward to seeing you and having a hopping good time.

Also, Rebekah Circle will again host a special continental coffee hour on Palm Sunday. If you have any questions, please call Sue Henkel at 627-5929.

Mardi Gras Bingo is Back!
SBingo!aturday, February 10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. First call at 7 p.m.

If you haven't joins us before, CCC offers their version of BINGO, which means we bring our own prizes!! You know, that "charming" hat in the attic or that "unique" centerpiece your Mother-in-law gave you...wrap them up. Wrap them in the Sunday funnies, in wrapping paper or bag it in brown paper or fancy. Bring two or three or more "prizes." Bring your neighbors, your children, friends and yes, your mother-in-law! Bring a snack, hors d'oeuvres or dessert. We'll supply the soda and coffee! It's a great time for a great cause...only at CCC!
